Two cars stat to move simultaneously with the same speed from point A to point B. The first moves in a straight line connecting A and B, uniformly, and the second-on the bypass road, made as a half-circle connecting the same points. The speed of the second uniformly increases so that the end of the path its speed is doubled. which car will arrive earlier at point B ?

A

1 st car

B

2 nd car

C

both will reach simultaneously

D

depends on values of R and v

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
C

`t_(1)=(2R)/v`
for 2nd car, `v_(av)=(v+2v)/2=(piR)/(t_(2))`
`rArr t_(2)=(2piR)/(3v) gt t_(1)`

From the origin at the same time two points being to move. The first moves on the X-axis at a speed =4 m/s, and the second on the Y axis at a spe3ed of 3 m/ sec.

Two particles move in the same straight line starting at the same moment from the same point in the same direction. The first moves with constant velocity u and the second starts from rest with constant acceleralion f . Then

Two Indian tourists in the US cycled towards each other, one from point A and the other from point B. The first tourist left point A 6 hrs later than the second left point B, and it turned out on their meeting that he had travelled 12 km less than the second tourist. After their meeting, they kept cycling with the same speed, and the first tourist arrived at B 8 hours later and the second arrived at A 9 hours later. Find the speed of the faster tourist.

Two cars starts out simultaneously from a point in the same direction, one of them going at a speed of 50 kmhr^-1 and the other at 40 kmhr^-1 . In half an hour a third car starts out from the same point and overtakes the first car 1.5 hours after catching up with the second car. The speed of the third car is.

A train can travel 50% faster than a car. Both start from point A at the same time and reach point B, 60 km away from point A, at the same time. On the way, however, the train lost about 12.5 min while stopping at the stations. The speed of the car is:

Two trains start from the same point simultaneously and in the same direction. The first train travels at 40 km/h, and the speed of the second train is 25 percent more than the speed of the first train. Thirty minutes later, a third train starts from the same point and in the same direction. It overtakes the second train 90 minutes later than it overtook the first train. What is the speed of the third train?

A car moves with a constant speed on a road. The normal reaction exerted by the road on the car is N_(A) and N_(B) when it is at the points A and B respectively, then

A car starts at point A with a speed of 40 kmph and reaches point B. Then the car returns to the starting point A with a speed of 60 kmph. What is average speed of the car?
