Add the rational numbers:
(i)`3/4` and `(-5)/8`
(ii) `5/(-9)` and `7/3`

(i) Add `3/4` and `(-5/8)`
`=3/4+(-5/8)`

Taking LCM, we get LCM as `8`

`=(6-5)/8`
`=1/8`

We get the answer as `1/8`.

(ii) Add `5/-9` and `(7/3)`
`=(5/-9)+(7/3)`

Taking LCM, we get LCM as `9`

`=(-5+21)/9`
`=16/9`

We get the answer as `16/9`.
