Using commutativity and associativity of addition of ration of numbers, express each of the following as a rational number:
`3/5+\ (-7)/6+2/5+\ (-5)/6`

Text Solution

Using commutativity and associativity of addition of ration of numbers, express each of the following as a rational number:
`3/5+\ (-7)/6+2/5+\ (-5)/6`
Putting same denominator numbers together,
`=(3/5+2/5)+(-7/6+(-5/6))`
Taking `5` and `6` common from the denominators,
`=({3+2}/{5})+({-7-5}/{6})`
`=(5/5-12/6)`
`=1-1/2`
`=1/2`
Hence, `1/2` is the correct answer.
