Subtract the first rational number from ...

Subtract the first rational number from the second in each of the following : `(-2)/(11),(-9)/(11)` (ii) `(11)/(13),(-4)/(13)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) Subtracting `(-2/11)` from `(-9/11)`
`=(-9/11)-(-2/11)`
`=(-9+2)/11`
=`-7/11`
We get the answer as, `-7/11`.

(ii)Subtracting `11/13` from `(-4/13)`
`=(-4/13)-11/13`
`=(-4-13)/13`
=`-17/13`
We get the answer as, `-17/13`.
