Let the number of students be `x`
Given that each student paid as many paisa as there were students in the school.
Total amount collected = Rs. `2,304` or `230400` paisa.
Now, if one student paid `x` paisa, `x` students must have paid`x^2` paisa in total.
`=>x^2=2304`
`=>x=480`

Hence, there were `480` students in the school.
