The expressions 2x-3,\ \ 3x+2y ,\ \ x y ...

The expressions `2x-3,\ \ 3x+2y ,\ \ x y z-5\ ` etc. are all binomials. Note that `3x+7x` is not a binomial, because `3x+7x=10 x ,` which is a monomial.

Expressions having two terms are known as binomials. Therefore, `2x-3,\ \ 3x+2y ,\ \ x y z-5\ ` etc. are all binomials.
But `3x+7x` on addition becomes `10x` which is a monomial.
