Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) `1/2y^7-12 y^6+48 y^5-10`
The highest power of the variable is `7`.
`therefore` The degree of the given polynomial is `7`.
(ii) `3x^3+15`
The highest power of the variable is `3`.
`therefore` The degree of the given polynomial is `3`.
(iii) `20 x^3+12 x^2y^2-10 y^2+20`
The highest power of the variable is `4`.
In the given polynomial, there are two variables then after adding the degree of the variables it comes out to be `4`.
`therefore` The degree of the given polynomial is `4`.
