One sixth of a cistern is filled by pipe at the rate of 6 lit/h, 4/6th of a cistern is filled by pipe at the rate of 8 lit/h and rest at the rate of 4 lit/h. Find the average rate of pipe at which tank will completely get filled.

We are given:
Cistern Fills in '`1`' hour = '`1/6`'
Cistern empties in '1' hour = '`1/8`'
Net filled in '`1`' hour = '`1/6 - 1/8`'
= '`(8-6)/48'`
= '`2/48`'
='`1/24`'
So cistern will be filled in '`24`' hours.
