How many wooden cubical blocks of side 25cm can be cut from a log of wood of size 3m by 75cm by 50cm, assuming that there is no wastage?

Text Solution

Solution:
The length of the side of the cubical block`=25 cm`
Volume of the one cubical block`=25×25×25 cm^3`
Let the required number of blocks be `n`.
Therefore the volume of the `n` cubical blocks`=`volume of wood
`n×25^3=300×75×50`
`⇒n=(300×75×50)25^3=12×3×2=72`
Hence, the required number of blocks are `72`.
