If the rainfall on a certain day was 5cm, how many litres of water fell on 1 hectare field on that day?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Rainfall on a certain day= '5' cm = '5/100' m
Area of land = '1 hectares = 10000 m²'
So,Volume of rain that falls on '1' hectare land = '(10000 x 5/100) m³ =500 m³
Now,'1 m³ = 1000' litres
so, '500 m³ = (500 x 1000) litres = 500000 litres'
