The height of a right circular cylinder ...

The height of a right circular cylinder is 10.5cm. If three times the sum of the areas of its two circular faces is twice the area of the curved surface area. Find the radius of its base.

Text Solution

Giventhat
height of cylinder = `10.5`
three times the sum of the areas of its two circular faces is twice the area of the curved surface area
`3(2 pir2) = 2(2pirh)`
`6pir2 = 4pirh`
`6pir2 / 4pir = h`
`3r/2 = 10.5 `
`r = 2xx10.5/3 = 7cm`
Therefore, the radius of the base is `7cm`.
