Find the ratio between the total surface...

Find the ratio between the total surface area of a cylinder to its curved surface area, given that its height and radius are 7.5 cm and 3.5 cm.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Radius of cylinder `r=3.5 cm`
Height of cylinder `h=7.5 cm`
Curved surface area`=2pirh`
Total surface area`=2pir(h+r)`
Ratio`=(2pi r ((h+r)))/(2pi r h)`
`=(h+r)/h=(7.5+3.5)/7.5`
`=11/7.5`
`=(11times2)/15=22/15`
`therefore` Ratio between the total surface area of a cylinder to its curved surface area`=22:15`
