The ratio between the radius of the base...

The ratio between the radius of the base and the height of a cylinder is `2:3`., find the total surface area of the cylinder, it its volume is `1617 cm^3`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

let radius `r =2x`
and height `h=3x`
given that volume`=1617cm^3`
or, `pir^2h=1617cm^3`
or,`pixx(2x)^2xx(3x)=1617cm^3`
so, `x=7/2`
so `r=2xx(7/2)=7cm`and `h=21/2cm`
so total surface area `=2pir^2+2pirh`
`=770cm^2`
