Schizogony is an asexual reproduction in which schizony is formed. From the human blood sporozoites enter the liver cells. The sporozoites grows in size to become a rounded schizont called cryptozoite. The latter divides to form cryptomerozoites. The cryptomerozoites formed during pre-erythrocytic schizogony may enter the human RBCs to start the erythrocytic schizogony, while some of them enter new lives cells to repeat hepatic (liver) schizogony.
