A hydraulic press with the larger piston...

A hydraulic press with the larger piston of diameter 35 cm at a heigth of 1.5 m relative to the smaller piston of diameter 10 cm. The mass on the smaller piston is 20 kg. What is the force exerted on the load placed. On the larger piston ? The density of oil in the press is `750 kg m^(-3)`

Pressure on the smaller piston `= (20 xx 9.8)/(pi xx (5 xx 10^(-2))^(2)) N//m^(2)`
Pressure on the larger piston `= (F)/(pi xx (17.5 xx 10^(-2))^(2)) N//m^(2)`
The difference between the two pressures `= hrhog`
Thus, `(20 xx 9.8)/(pi xx (5 xx 10^(-2))^(2)) - (F)/(pi xx (17.5 xx 10^(-2))^(2)) = 1.5 xx 750 xx 9.8 = 11025`
`rArr F = 1.3 xx 10^(3)N`
