If the resistance X and Y `(XltY)` be placed in the two gaps of a metre bridge , null point is obtained at a length of 20cm . Keeping Y unchanged if a resistance 4X is placed in place of X what will be the position of the null point ?

In the first case , `(X)/(Y)=(20)/(100-20)`
`"or, " Y=4X`
So , if resistance 4X be palaced in place of X , resistance of the two gaps will be equal , since Y = 4 X .
Therefore , the null point will be at the middle of the bridge wire i.e , at 50 cm .

Keeping a resistance of 2Omega in the left gap of a metre bridge , an unknown resistance is placed in the right gap and the null point is obtained at a distance of 40.0 cm . If no end error is present , what will be the value of the unknown resistance ?

In a metre bridge experiment , a null point is obtained at a length of 39.8 cm when a 2Omega resistance is placed in the left gap and a 3Omega resistance in the right gap . If the two resistance are interchanged , the null point is obtained at 60.8 cm . Calculated the end errors of the bridge .

In a metre bridge , null point is obtained at 42.1"cm" on the wire when a 3Omrga resistance is kept in the left gap and a 4Omega resistance in the right gap of the bridge . The null point is shifted towards right by 15.0 cm when the two resistance are interchanged . Determine the end error of the bridge .

In a potentiometer experiment the null point is obtained at 5.20 m for a cell. A Shunt resistance of 5 Omega is added. The new null point is at 4:00 m. What is the internal resistance of the cell ?

A null point is obtained when two resistors , of resistance r each, are connected in series and placed in the fourth arm of a wheatstone bridge . Now , the resistance R of the third arm is kept fixed ,and r, connected in parallel, are placed in the fourth arm. then a null point is obtained only by interchanging the resistances P and Q , and also the value of r.

A resistance R = 2Omega is connected to one of the gaps in a metre bridge, which uses a wire of length 1m. An unknown resistance X is connected in the other gap as shown in the figure. The balance point is noticed at 'l' from the positive end of the battery. On interchanging R and X, it is found that the balance point further shifts by 20 cm (away from end A). Neglecting the end correction, calculate the value of unknown resistance X used.

In a meter bridge when the resistance in the lift gap, is 2Omega and an unknown resistance in the right gap, the balance point is obtained at 40 cm from Zero end. On shunting the unknown resistance with 2Omega find the shift of the balance point on the bridge.

The resistance in the left and the right gaps of a metre bridge circuit are 3Omega and 2 Omega respectively . For what length of the bridge wire is the null point found if there is no end error ?
