A factory requires a power of 90 kW. The energy is tranmitted to the factory through a `2.5Omega` line wire .If 10 % of the power generated is lost in transmission , calculate
The trasmission line current

Here , `("power of the generating station")/("power required for the factory ")=(100)/((100-10)) `
`=(100)/(90)`
or , power of the generating station`=90xx(100)/(90)=100W`
power lost =`100-90=kW=10000kW`
This power is lost in transmission line.
So , according to the equation , `P=I^(2)R`
Current in the transmission line ,
`I=sqrt((P)/(R))=sqrt((10000)/(2.5))=sqrt(4000)=63.25A` (approx.)
