A 220 V - 100W electric lamp fuses above 150 W power . What should be the maximum tolerable voltage for the lamp ?

Power , `P=(V^(2))/(R)`
If we ignore the change of resistance with the increase of power, we have , `PpropV^(2)`
So , for two different powers , `(P_(1))/(P_(2))=(V_(1)^(2))/(V_(2)^(2))`
i.e., `V_(2)=V_(1)sqrt((P_(2))/(P_(1)))=220xxsqrt((150)/(100))=269.4V`
So , the maximum tolerable voltage for the lamp is 269 V.
