If a 220 V -1000 w lamp is connected in ...

If a 220 V -1000 w lamp is connected in 110 V line then what will be the power consumed by it ?

Text Solution

Resistance of the lamp , `R=(V_(1)^(2))/(P)=(220)^(2)/(1000)Omega`
`therefore` power consumed by the lamp when it is connected in 110 V line ,
`P_(2)=(V_(2)^(2))/(R)=((110)^(2)xx1000)/(220)^(2)=250W`
