How are lamp , fan etc . Connected in domestic electrical connection - in series combination or parallel combination ? Give reasons for your answer.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The voltage rating of lamp , fan etc . Is generally fixed at a definite value (for example , 220 V) and this voltage they work at maximum rate . Again , we kown that if a few conductors are coonected in parallel , the potentail difference across each conductor is equal . So , in domestic electric wiring lamp , fan etc . are connected in parallel combination .

5 Identical cells are connected in series to form a row, 3 such rows are connected in parallel to form a combination of cells. The combination sends 1A current through an external resistance of 9 Omega . But if the resistance of the external circuit be 19 Omega then the currents is reduced to half of its previous value. Determine the em and internal resistance of each coil.
