A heater coil has been cut into two equal parts and one coil is used as heater . What is the percentage change in heat generation ?

Potential difference across the coil in both cases , is V .
Therefore rate of heat generation `= (V^(2))/(R)`
If the coil is cut into half then the value of R becomes half . That’s why rate of heat generation becomes double.
This is , this rate increases by 100 %
