Width of the interferece fringe due to the doube slit,
`y = (D)/(d) lambda `:
D = 1m, d = 1 mm and `lambda` = 500 nm
Now, width of the central bright diffraction band due to the single slit,
`y' = (2D)/(a) lambda,` a width of the slit
According to the question,
`(2D)/(a)lambda = 10(D)/(d) lambda`
or, `a = (2)/(10)d = (2)/(10) xx 1 `mm = 0.2 mm
The option (A) is correct.
