A carrier wave of peak voltage 15 V is used to transmit a message signal. Find the peak voltage of the modulating signal in order to have a modulation index of 60%.

Modulation index is given by `mu = (A_(m))/(A_(c))`
where `A_(m)` is the amplitude of modulated wave, `A_(c)` is the amplitude of carrier wave.
Hare, `A_(c)` = 15 V, `mu` = 60% = 0.6
As, `" " mu = (A_(m))/(A_(c)) " "or, A_(m) = mu A_(c)`
`therefore " "A_(m) = 0.6 xx 15` = 9 V
