What is unit cell of a crystal lattice? What parameters are used to characterise a unit cell?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The parameters which are used to characterise a unit cell are - (i) edge lengths, a, b and c. These edge may or may bot be equal or mutually perpendicular. (ii) Angles between the pair of edges are represented by `alpha, betaandgamma.alpha, betaandgamma` are the opposite angle of sides a, b and c respectively.
