We know, `(d_(1))/(d_(2))=(P_(1))/(P_(2))xx(T_(2))/(T_(1))`
STP: `d_(1)=1.96g*L^(-1),P_(1)=1atm,T_(1)=273K`
At `17^(@)C` and 800 mm Hg pressure:
`P_(2)=(800)/(760)=1.053atm,T_(2)=(273+17)K=290K,d_(2)=?`
`therefore d_(2)=d_(1)xx(P_(2))/(P_(1))xx(T_(1))/(T_(2))=1.96xx(1.053)/(1)xx(273)/(290)=1.94g*L^(-1)`
If the mass of `480mL` of `CO_(2)` gas be wg, then `d_(2)=(w)/(0.48)g*L^(-1)`
`therefore 1.94g*L^(-1)=(w)/(0.48)g*L^(-1)" "therefore =0.9312g`
Therefore, the mass of `CO_(2)` gas is =0.9312 g
