2) Its structure and nature are most suitable for its function.
3) Transmission of impulses is nerve cells function.
4) For this function it has several adaptions.
a) These are extremely long to transmit the impulses.
b) They have myelin sheath to help the electric impulses to pass along the cell.
c) Never cell ends with dendrites which enter into the receptor organ and serve the commands.
d) Cyton has lot of projections to receive the impulses.
e) These are billions in number to pass the message speedily and form new pathways.
f) End of nerve cells forms 'synapses' which are also known as neuro-transmiters which carry the impulses in chemical manner.
