1) Movement of individual parts of plants is possible when they are subjected to external stimuli. This type of response is called tropism or tropic movement.
2) The response of a plant to light is called photoropism. Respond of plants for gravity is called geotropism. Movement of plant towards water is called hydrotropism. The type of response by plants to make contact or touch is called thigmotropism. The response of plants to chemicals is called chemotropism.
