Explain the significance of : a value of `K` of about 1.0

`K_(c)` is the ratio of rate constants of forward reaction and rate constnt of backward reaction. When the rate constants of both forward backward reactions are equal the value of `K_(c)` becomes 1. This indicates that the reaction proceeds to an extent of 50%.
