Discuss on : (i) Carbonates.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Carbonates : Carbonates of alkaline earth metals are insoluble in water and can be precipitated by addition of sodium or ammonium carbonate solution to the solutions of soluble compounds of these metals.
The solubility of the carbonates decreases down the group. Thermal stability of these carbonates increases down the group. So their decomposition temperature increase down the group.
