When 3 g of carbon is burnt in 8g of oxygen 11 g of carbob dioxide is produced. What mass of carbon dioxide is formed when 3 g of carbon is burnt in 50 g of oxygen.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

3g of carbon react with 8 g of oxygen to form 11g of carbon dioxide.
Ratio of carbon and oxygen=3:8
The amount oxygen react with 3 g of carbon=`3 times 8=24`.
So the amount of carbon dioxide formed =3+24=27 g.
