2) Some good effect in our daily life are
i) Burning of wood involves oxidation process and releases huge amount of energy.
ii) Rising of dough with yeast depends on oxidation of sugars to carbon dioxide and water.
iii) Bleaching of coloured objects using moist chlorine involves oxidation.
iv) Respiration in the human beings is an oxidation process.
3) Some evil effects in our daily life are
i) When fats and oils are oxidized, they become rancid. Their smell and taste change.
ii) Corrosion is the oxidative deterioration of metals. Iron, copper, silver and other metals are corroded by oxidation.
iii) Apples, pears, bananas, potatoes, etc. contain enzyme called pooyphenol oxidise or tyrosinese, which reacts with oxygen and changes the colour on the cut surface of the fruit.
iv) In metallurgy oxidation is barrier to get metal in refining process.
