Calculate the work done by a person in lifting a load of 20 kg from the ground and placing it 1m high on a table.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Mass of a load = 20 kg , Height h = 1m
Acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 `m//s^(2)`
The work done by a person in lifting the load is equal to the P.E.
P.E. = mgh `=20times9.8times1=196J`
