A cycle together with its rider weighs 100 kg. How much work is needed work to set it moving at 3 m/s.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Mass of the bicycle with rider = 100 kg , Speed = 3 m/s
Amount of work needed to set it moving is equal to its K.E.
`K.E.=1/2mv^(2)=1/2 times 100 times 100 times 3 times 3=450 J " " therefore 450 J` work is needed.
