Calculate the work required to be done to stop a car of 1500 kg moving at a velocity of 60 km/hr.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

v = 60 km/hr `=cancel(60)^(10) times 5/cancel(18)_(3)=50/3m//s`
Mass (m) = 1500 kg.
Kinetic energy `=1/2mv^(2)=1/cancel(2) times cancel(1500)^(cancel(500)^(250)) times 50/cancel(3) times 50/3=208333 J`.
`therefore` The work done to stop the moving car = 208333 J.
