Take 2 ml of NaOH in a test tube, add two drops of phenolphthalein solution and then add few drops of dil. HCl to it. What is your observation with respect to colour?

When phenolphthalein added to :N"aOH solution, it's colour becomes pink. When HCl added to solution pink colour disappears.
