How do you appreciate the common salt as it is raw substance to many salts ?

4) Sodium chloride is also known as table salt or common salt or N/ACl.
5) It is used to enhance the taste of food.
6) Toe common salt is an important raw material for various materials of daily use, such as sodium hydroxide, halting soda, washing soda, bleaching powder and many more.
7) When electricity is passed through an aqueous solution of sodium chloride (brine) it decomposes to form sodium hydroxide, `H_2` and `Cl_2`. This is called as chlor-alkali process. .
8) So many substances are prepared from these products (`Cl_2,H_2` and N/AOH).
9) We are using these products in different fields.
10) In this way 'N/ACl plays major role in the domestic field and also industrial field'.
