The near point of a Hypermetropic eye is...

The near point of a Hypermetropic eye is 1 m. What is the nature and powe of the lens required to correct this defect ? (The near point of the normal eye is 25 cm)

Text Solution

The correct Answer is:
Convex lens +3.0 D

Given d=1m = 100 cm
For hypermetropic eye f`=(25d)/(d-25)=(25xx100)/(100-25)=(25xx100)/(75) = 33.33` cm
Power `P=(100)/("f(in cm)") =(100)/((100)/(3))=3D`
The lens is convex lens.
