Role of molecules in the atmosphere in scattering :
1) Light of certain frequency falls on that atom or molecules .
2) This molecules responds to the light whenever the size of the molecules is comparable to the wavelength of light nad vibrates.
3) Due to these vibration, molecules re-emits a certain fraction of absorbed energy in all directions. The emitted light is called scattered light.
4) The atoms or molecules are called scattering centres.
