Text Solution

Verified by Experts

1) The eye-lens forms a real and invered image of an object on the retina.
2) The retina is a delicate membrane, which contains about 125 million receptors called 'rods' and 'cones' which receive the light signals.
3)Rods identify the colour.
4) Cones identify the intensity of light.
5) These signals are transmitted to the brain through about 1 million optic nerve fibres.
6) The brain interpets these signals and finally processes the formation.
7) So that we percieve the object in terms of its shape , size and colour.
