All akali metals are solids but hydrogen is a gas with diatomic molecules . Do you justify the inclusion of hydrogen in first group with alkali metals ?

It can be placed in group -I along with metals and aslo it can be placed in group - 17 along with halogens because it is one electron short of inert gas configuration .
But , the electronic configuration of hydrogen is `1s^(2) `. on the electronic configuration . it should be placed at top of the `1^(st )` group .
