Arrange the elements of `2^(nd) ` period in the increasing order of their `1^(st) ` ionization energies . What is your observation ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

1) The increasing value of ionization values of elements of `2^(nd) ` period is` Li lt B lt Be lt C lt N lt F lt Ne ` .
2) It is is observed that I.P.E of Boron is less than that of Beryllium (Be) and I.P.E of Oxygen is less than that of nitrogen (N).
