Explanation

1. Fuse is a thin wire made up of a substance with low melting point and high resistance.
2. The fuse is conneted in the house hold circuit such that the entre current from the mains must pass throug the fuse.
3. When the current exceeds certain limit, the fuse wire heats up and melt. Then the circuit becomes open.
4. This prevents all electrical appliances from damage due to over current.
5. If fuse is not inserted all electrical appliances will damage due to excess current, which leads to a severe loss.
6. A small wire (fuse) is holding the responsiblity of protecting all our home appliance like T.V., fridge, fan, etc. frome exces current.
