Aim : To establish the relationship between Current (I) flowing in a conductor and potential difference (V) maintained across its ends.
Material required : 5 dry cellls of 1.5 V each, conducting wires, an ammeter. A volt meter, thin iron spoke of lenth 10 cm, LED and key.
Diagram :

Procedure :
1. Connect a circuit as shown in the figure.
2. Solder the conducting wires to the ends of the iron spoke.
3. Close the key .
4. Note the reading of current from ammeter and difference from vol meter in the given table.

5. Now connect two cells (In series) instead of one cell In the circuit.
6. Note the respective readings of the ammeter and voltmeter and the values in the table.
7. Repeat the same for three cells, four cells and five cells respectively.
8. Record the values of V and I corresponding to each case in the table.
9. Find `(V)/(I)` for each set of values.
Conclusion : The ratio of `(V)/(I)` is constant.
10. From this activity we can conlude that the potential difference between the ends of the iron spoke (conductor) is directly to the current passing throug it.
This means `VpropI.`
