What is the direction of magnetic force when velocity of charge is perpendicular to the magnetic field.

IF the force finger points towards the direction of velocity of charge or current.middle fingers points to the direction of the field (B).then thumb gives direction of force when three fingers are stretched in such a way that they are perpendicular to each other.
THe rule is applicable to positive charge.
