A girl is swinging seated in swing. What is the effect on the frequency of oscillation if she stands?

The frequency of oscillation (n) will increase because in the standing position, the location of centre of mass of the girl shift upwards. Due to it, the effective length of the swing decreases. As ` nprop (1)/(sqrtl)`, therefore, n increases.
