Differentiate between lentic and lotic system.

Lentic system is formed of stagnant freash water bodies eg, ponds and lakes in which water is not running but circulated by winds. It is with uniform distribution of oxygen, carbon dioxide and minerals. Lotic system is formed of moving fresh water bodies eg, streams and rivers. These have well oxygenated water but less mineral. It does not show thermal stratification.
