What is leghaemoglobin ? Give its role in `N_(2)` fixation.

Leghaemoglobin is a red coloured pigment present in the nodules of the root of the legumes This pigment act as an oxygen scavenger and keeps the level of oxygen low inside the nodules which activates the enzyme nitrogenase which reduce `N_(2)` to ammonia.
