Examine the following functions for continuity.
(a) `f(x)=x-5`
(b) `f(x)=1/(x-5)`
(c) `f(x)=(x^2-25)/(x+5)`
(d) `f(x)=|x-5|`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`f(x) = x - 5`

To check continuity of `f(x)`

We check it's if it is continuous at any point `x = c`

Let c be any real number
`f` is continuous at `x = c`

`if lim_(xrarrc) f(x) = f(c)`
