48 similar cells each of emf 1.5V and internal resistance `2 Omega` are used for sending current through a resistance of `6 Omega`. What will be the current if the cells are connected in the following way: 6 rows and 8 cells in a row

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Emf of each cell ( e)=1.5.V, internal resistance ( r)=`2 Omega` external resistance ( R)=6 `Omega`.
No. of cells in a row(a)=8, No. of rows (m)=6
So, current,
`I=(mn e)/(mR+nr)=(6times8times1.5)/(6times6+8times2)=72/52=18/13=1.385A`
