A conductor in series with an ammeter and a semiconductor in series with another ammeter are connected in parallel. At a certain voltage both the ammeters register the same current. Will this condition remains as such if the voltage of the dc source is increased? Explain your answer.

At a certain potential difference the readings of both the ammeters are the same, but if the potential difference is increased the readings of both the ammeters will not be equal. A metallic conductor is an ohmic conductor i.e current through it increases proportionally with the increase of potential difference between its ends. On the other hand , a semiconductor is a non-ohmic conductor i.e., current through it increases with the increases of potential difference but not are the same rate So, in this case both the ammeters register increases of current but the readings will not remain the same.
